Streptomyces tend to develop antibiotics because they are non-motile and have to inhibit other bacteria to survive. Some unique strains are found all over earth typically in alkaline environments [1]. This could also explain things like pyramids which use electrohydrodynamics to produce alkaline water, or perhaps other alkaline water sources with healing or growth promoting powers like pyramid lake [2]
